Fleet App: Asset details
This article provides comprehensive details about an asset. When you select a specific asset from the asset list, you'll see several tabs such as Status, Events, Trips, and Commands. Let's explore each of these tabs in detail
Status
To view the status of a specific asset, tap on the asset's Status tab as shown below.
Variables Sorting
Note: To see asset variables, you need to map them first using the device mapper.
You can sort the variables by first clicking on the options selected for 'Showing' as shown below.
The variables can be sorted based on 'SORT BY' and 'SORT DIRECTION.' Choose the option that is most useful for your fleet from these.
Actions Menu
When you click on the icon on the top-right corner of the screen, you can see the 'Edit Asset,' 'Share location,' and 'Navigate to' options.
- Edit Asset
This option enables you to add or update pictures, edit the asset name, view tracker details, edit the odometer, or even delete assets - all directly within the app.
- Share location
This option enables live location sharing. You can share the generated link with a stakeholder.

- Navigation
This option gives the possibility of navigating to the current asset's position using your phone's default navigation program (e.g. Maps on iOS or Google Maps on Android). The below image is an example using IOS maps.
Events
- To see specific asset-related events only, tap on the asset's Events tab. Read more on the Fleet app - Events rules.
This selection will only show open events for that particular asset.
- To see a count of all events instead, tap on the Events icon at the bottom-right of the screen.
Trips
- To view your trips, search for your asset from the list of assets and then tap on it. Then, click on 'Trips.'
- Tap on 'Draw all trips' to view your trips on the map

- The list icon displays the information of the trip from the start until the end.
- Once the trip is drawn on the map, you can drag the control bar forward or backwards to browse through the trip and get more information about a particular moment.
Commands
You can send commands to your trackers directly from the app.
To send commands, you need to have template commands set up for your server.
