ORBCOMM (formerly Skywave) device setup
This guide shows how to set up ORBCOMM (formerly Skywave) devices. There are three different setup models:
Plugin
1. Log in to Site Admin
2. Go to Plugins → Get more plugins.
3. Install the ORBCOMM plugin.
ORBCOMM Device Cloud setup
1. Log in to Site Admin.
2. Go to Service → Providers.
3. Select Add New Provider.
4. Enter http://devicecloud.orbcomm.com in Url.
5. Enter username and password to your ORBCOMM account.
6. Enter DeviceCloud,ORBCOMM Demo in CustomString.
7. Enter ORBCOMM in RouteLabel.
8. Save.
9. Click Start on the provider's list.
How to add a device in the application
1. Log in to your application
2. Click + User
3. Select Device in User Type drop-down list. Click Next.
3. Enter a Username and a Name, which is the name displayed on the map and in the list. Click Next.
4. Click on Next for Roles.
5. Click on Next for Tags.
6. Select Device Type → ORBCOMM GT1100.
7. Fill in the ID of the tracker.
8. Click Save.

ORBCOMM IDP setup
1. Log in to Site Admin
2. Go to Devices → ORBCOMM.
3. Click New.
4. Enter Username and Password and select IDP
5. Select the Provider from the list.
6. Save.
7. Click Start.
How to add a device in the application
1. Log in to your application
2. Click + User
3. Select Device in User Type drop-down list. Click Next.
3. Enter a Username and a Name, which is the name displayed on the map and in the list. Click Next.
4. Click on Next for Roles.
5. Click on Next for Tags.
6. Select Device Type > ORBCOMM IDP Standard.
7. Fill in the Terminal ID of the tracker.
8. Click Save.

ORBCOMM DMR/DAP-XML setup
1. Log in to Site Admin
2. Go to Devices → ORBCOMM.
3. Click New.
4. Enter Username and Password and select DAP or ASPI-XML
5. Save.
6. Click Start.

3. Enter a Username and a Name, which is the name displayed on the map and in the list. Click Next.
4. Click on Next for Roles.
5. Click on Next for Tags.
6. Select Device Type → ORBCOMM Standard.
7. Fill in the Terminal ID of the tracker.
8. Click Save.

If the report in the terminal starts with "[mobileid]/skywave/sky" the report was received over IDP satellite gateway. If the report starts with "[mobileid]/skywave/http" the report was received over GPRS. (As noted in the article above, the ORBCOMM device was previously called Skywave.)
