ORBCOMM IDP setup

IsatData Pro (IDP) is a satellite-based Iot service developed in collaboration with Inmarsat. It offers two-way messaging capabilities, making it suitable for tracking and monitoring remote assets.

IDP is ideal for industries requiring reliable communication with assets located beyond the reach of terrestrial networks.

Please read and follow the initial guide for the ORBCOMM device setup, then continue with this guide. 

How to set up in GpsGate : 

1. Log in to Site Admin (Legacy).
2. Go to Devices → ORBCOMM.
3. Click New.
4. Enter Username and Password and select IDP

5. If necessary due to your ORBCOMM setup, add the Subaccount ID; otherwise, leave it blank. 
6. Save.

7. Click Start.

Normally, the endpoint of the message should be:

https://isatdatapro.orbcomm.com/GLGW/2/RestMessages.svc/get_return_messages.json

But as some configuration on Orbcomm IDP, the endpoint can be like:

https://isatdatapro.orbcomm.com/GLGW/2/RestMessages.svc/JSON/get_return_messages

1. Navigate to Site Admin (Legacy)-Services - Provider 

2. Then you need to modify the provider as:

• Enter the custom URL with https://isatdatapro.orbcomm.com/GLGW/2/RestMessages.svc/JSON
• Add a parameter on the CustomString as “no_json=true”

How to add an asset to the application

1. Log in to your application
2. Click  +Asset in the Assets panel
3. Select Device hardware → ORBCOMM IDP Standard.
4. Fill in the Terminal ID
5. Enter a Username and a Display Name for this asset.
6. Save the setup.
