Adding devices to GpsGate
Configure your device to report to GpsGate server
The first step is to configure your device to point to GpsGate server.

Add the device into an application
The second step is to add the device into an application. There are multiple ways of doing this depending on your current situation:
If it's the first device you add in your application, you will be prompted by the assistant to choose an option.
Follow this guide to install your first device.
Second device and more
If you want to add your second device (or if you prefer to skip the first device assistant), follow these steps:
1. Click on + Device
2. Type in a Username and a screen Name.
- Username should be a unique name for your device in the system.
- Name is the device name on screen.
3. Go to Device 1 and type in your device brand or model.
If you don't find your device in the list, check if your device is compatible with GpsGate here.
If the device plugin has not yet been installed, you will be prompted to install it first:
4. Type in your device ID or IMEI number.
This number is usually on the device label. Ask your device manufacturer if you need more details.
5. Click on Save.
Congratulations! Now your new device is added to the platform!
On step 4 above, If your device has already generated traffic to the server, you will see the connection down below. You can click in the box and it will turn in blue.
Click on Connect button to finally add it.
On step 4 above, you can also add the tracker details manually by clicking in
Add tracker manually + button.
Enter the IMEI/Device number below:
Add the tracker to the list by clicking on + button, then finally click Connect.
Using this option, your device will start generating traffic to the server as soon as it's configured and operating normally.
On Step 4, when adding the device, is possible that your Windows Server ports are closed for incoming connection, click on Open firewall to allow incoming traffic.
On Step 4, it is also possible that your Windows Server firewall is open, but your router/firewall needs Port Forwarding. Check your router/firewall configuration and try again.
You can send commands to your devices using template commands.
