Add Custom Asset

If you want to add an asset with more detailed information, the Custom Asset option allows you to include additional configurations. From this panel, you can assign roles, tags, markers, and much more.

How to add a custom asset:

1. Choose 'Custom Asset' from the + Asset drop-down menu in the Asset panel.

2. Choose the User Type: Device 

3. Select your tracker model from the list:

4. Enter the IMEI number or select it from the list.

5. Navigate to all the other options on the windows and configure the device as you prefer. 

The asset is not yet reporting

If you selected a tracker brand that is not yet reporting to the platform (for instance, if you didn't follow step 1 above), in that case, you have to enter the Device ID / IMEI number manually. In the 'Configure your tracker' section, you will either view the Public IP or the domain name (syntax: connect.yourdomain.gpsgate.com) in the Public IP/Hostname field.

Note: Not applicable if trackers are reporting to connect.YOURDOMAIN.gpsgate.com

If your tracker is connected to the platform, when selecting the right model, you will see the available tracker's connection/s.

Select the tracker from the list. Use the tracker ID or IMEI as a reference :

Note: Only a Site Admin user can see the alternative list of IMEIs.

Note: phone number is an optional parameter. Necessary if you will use it to send SMS commands to the trackers from the GpsGate platform. Read more about this possibility here.

5. Click on Save.

Congratulations! You've now added a new tracker to the platform!
