Localize your variable names

Sometimes, you may want to modify variable names for the following reasons:

  • To find a name that better reflects the input you are receiving.
  • To provide a more accurate translation in your own language.
  • To make the purpose of the signal clearer.

By following this procedure, you can make these changes without altering the device mapper. For example, let's say you want to modify the translation of the variable "Heading."

To change this name to another one, follow these steps:

1. Go to Main Menu > Admin > Localization

Note: Discover how to enable the localization editor here.

2. Press on button  + Language

3. Choose a name and select the language you're using in the interface. In this example, we use English. Then save the language.

3. Press on the new language created and search for the word of the input you want to change.

Then type the new word and click Save and Reload

To make sure you add the translations to the correct module:

  1. Click right on the header
  2. Tick the Module
  3. Verify the Module column

4. Click on the button Reload UI

Now your variable name has changed!
