Restart the Franson NMEA Service

This article describes how to restart the Franson NMEA service. This restart process applies to on-premise installations. The cloud users should open a ticket with the GpsGate Support team instead.

This is usually done when you log in to your GpsGate server on the main login screen, you receive the error message 'Service Unavailable' as below.

Steps to Restart the Franson NMEA Service

1. Click on the Window icon present on the Taskbar of your Windows desktop. Now, you can type 'Services' in the Search bar. Then, click on 'Services.'

2. In the Services window, please search for 'Franson NMEA Service' and select it. You will have options to 'Stop' and 'Restart' the service as highlighted below. If you click on 'Stop,' the service will stop (this will take a couple of seconds). Then, an option will be displayed to 'Start' the service. You can click on this to start the service again. 

You can also click on 'Restart' to restart the service.

Note: The service may take a few minutes to come back. If the issue persists, users should open a support ticket.
