SQL Server has no TCP/IP service enabled

Problem

After installing and configuring MS SQL Server I'm trying to install GpsGate and when asked to connect to SQL Server its says that the SQL Server doesn't have the TCP/IP service enabled 

Even if it looks like that, see the pic below.

Cause

GpsGate is unable to connect to Microsoft SQL using TCP, usually due to an unknown port.

Solution

1. Make sure that the SQL Server Browser service is running.

2. Make sure the service is set to start automatically when your Windows Server starts.

3. If it is running and you're still experiencing the same issue, please set the TCP/IP Port to 1433 under the IPAll section of the TCP/IP protocol settings. Make sure this is done for the correct database (GPSGATESERVER)
