Dashboard Feature FAQs

Questions GpsGate users ask most about the Dashboard Feature

Looking for more information about Dashboard? Here are some frequently asked questions that explain Dashboard main features, data collection, and billing information.

Metrics & Widgets

Q: What are Metrics?
A: Creating Metrics is your first step in using the Dashboard feature. Metrics are the data source for generating Dashboard results. Once configured, Metrics refresh every 5 minutes to generate tracking and event data for analysis.

Q: What are Widgets?
A: Widgets bring your Metrics to life. Charts, lists, and graphs display Metric results in your application. Want to show top speeding events in both a list and a chart? No problem, you can create multiple Widgets from one Metric.

Q: How do I drill down into my Widgets?
A: The drill-down function makes total fleet insight even easier. From any Widget, you can click further to learn about specific vehicles or event details. From generating a Top Lists of speeding events to the exact time an event occurred, Dashboard Widgets give you the power to dig into detailed fleet behavior.

Q: What is a Top List?
A: A Top List is produced when drilling down from a Widget. For example, from a speeding event Widget you can produce a list of vehicles or drivers with top speeding events. Drill down even further and see when and where speeding events took place.
