Wireless broadband router supporting TAIP and NMEA

This guide shows how to set up broadband routers that sends position data to GpsGate using TAIP or NMEA. Brands using this mentions are Cradlepoint, Motorola, Cisco, etc.

Note! If you use NMEA the routers need a static IP.

TAIP Protocol

Plugin

1. Login to Site Admin
2. Go to Plugins > Get more plugins.
3. Install Trimble plugin.

How to add a device in the application

1. Log in to your application
2. Click + User
3. Select Device in User Type drop-down list. Click Next.
3. Enter a Username and a Name, which is the name displayed on the map and in the list. Click Next.
4. Click on Next for Roles.
5. Click on Next for Tags.
6. Select Device Type > TAIP.
7. Fill in the Vehicle ID of the tracker.
8. Click Save.

Configure your device to send data to your servers public IP port 8000. You find the public IP in Site Admin under Devices.

Smartpipe devices (NMEA Protocol)

Plugin

1. Log in to Site Admin.
2. Go to Plugins > Get more plugins.
3. Install SmartPipe plugin.

How to add a device in the application

1. Log in to your application.
2. Click + User.
3. Select Device in User Type drop-down list. Click Next.
3. Enter a Username and a Name, which is the name displayed on the map and in list. Click Next.
4. Click on Next for Roles.
5. Click on Next for Tags.
6. Select Device Type > SmartPipe Static IP...
7. Fill in the Static IP of the tracker.
8. Click Save.

Configure your device to send data to your servers public IP port 30176. You find the public IP in Site Admin under Devices.

Please note that each device must have a unique Static IP since there is no other ID in the data sent to the server!
