Power settings for Android Tracker

The Android Tracker uses resources that depend on the settings of your Android OS.

If you experience problems such as inaccurate tracking, try the options described in this guide.

  • Note: the following power settings have been tested using Android One ver. 9.

Read Tracker for Android.

Android Tracker app: Disable Power Saving

The first thing we need to do is to use the option Disable Power Saving in the Android Tracker App to avoid the app to standby when the screen is off or the phone is in standby mode.

This option though, is an in-app setting and it will be overridden by Android OS if you don't have the additional settings configured:

Check the following Power Settings in your phone configuration.

Battery Saver

If you're using the Battery Saver, it's possible that the Android Tracker will be put on hold. To avoid this, follow these steps:

1. Go to Settings

2. Go to Battery

3. Make sure Battery Saver is off.

Apps Settings

Battery optimization

Each application has its own battery configuration/optimization settings.

Check the following options in order to make sure Android Tracker is not constraint using these parameters.

1. Go to Settings

2. Go to Apps & notifications

3. Select All apps and tap on GpsGate Tracker / GPS Tracker (the unbranded version depending on what you use)

4. Once in GpsGate Tracker, select Advanced

5. Now tap on Battery

6. Make sure Battery optimization is disabled for this app.

If it's not disabled, tap in Battery optimization > All apps > GpsGate Tracker (GPS Tracker if you're using the unbranded one) > Don't optimize.
