Groups not selected in the event rule are included in the report

Problem

Events of assets not included in Groups in the event rule are included in the event report.

On the event rules, step 2, you select which assets the rule will be triggered for live alerts.

Note: The 'Vehicles 2' Group contains the assets - Vehicle 1 and Vehicle 2. The 'Vehicles' Group contains the assets - Vehicle 1, Vehicle 2, Vehicle 3, and Vehicle 4.

The event is filtered only for Assets included in the 'Vehicles 2' Group, but in the report, you see other assets that were not included in the event rule step 2. The 'Vehicles 2' Group contains the assets - Vehicle 1 and Vehicle 2, but we can also see Vehicle 3 and Vehicle 4. 

Cause

Event rule Groups apply only to live data events.

Report Groups apply to all assets selected, regardless of the Groups selected in the event rule.

Solution

In your report Groups parameters, select only the Groups that contain the assets you want to view in the report.
