Asset Diagnostics

The Asset Diagnostics feature helps users identify why a tracker or device is not connected to GpsGate. When an asset has never connected or is currently offline, GpsGate provides a Diagnostics button that opens an Asset Status panel with troubleshooting information.

The Diagnostics panel helps users quickly review possible connection issues directly inside the platform.

When the Diagnostics Button Appears

The Diagnostics button is only visible when the device or tracker is not connected.

Example situations:

  • The tracker has never connected
  • The device is offline
  • The tracker stopped reporting data

Where can you find the Diagnostics Button

  1. Add or open an asset in GpsGate
  2. If the device is not connected, the Diagnostics button appears in the Asset Status section
  3. Click Diagnostics
  4. The Asset Status panel opens with troubleshooting information

What the Asset Status Panel Shows

The Asset Status panel helps users troubleshoot connection problems by showing common causes for why the tracker is not connected.

Examples include:

  • Is the tracker powered on?
  • Can the tracker acquire a GPS fix?
  • Is the SIM card active with a data plan?
  • Did you recently change the tracker’s server settings?
  • Is the device properly installed?

Users can expand each section for additional troubleshooting guidance.
