Closest Asset Tool

The Closest Asset tool makes it quick and easy to find fleet assets on the map. The tool helps operators plan the most efficient routes for asset assignments, considering asset availability and proximity to destinations. This reduces travel time, fuel consumption, and overall operational costs.

To install this feature, update GpsGate to the latest monthly release. No additional privileges are needed to use this function.

1. Within an application, right-click on any point on the map.

2. A pop-up window listing the 5 closest assets will appear. You'll see assets' distances from the point you chose on the map. The list of auto-defaults to active fleet assets. To include parked and  offline assets, check the box in the lower lefthand corner of the window.

3. Select a asset from the list to view its location on the map. From there, you can view asset tags and details that you have assigned, like asset type, fuel level, etc. You are now ready to dispatch the driver to the next job.
