Vehicle Status (beta)

Vehicle status lets you see everything about the vehicle in the same place - whether on the map or in its own panel.

  • Built-in toolbar to access the key features you select. This includes drawing today's tracks, zooming in, sharing vehicle location, editing the vehicle, etc.
  • Icon sets and the event badge (displaying the number of open events)

The new vehicle status provides operators an efficient way to see what is currently displayed on the status panel, vehicle info panel, and marker attributes.

Popover-style vehicle status

The popover vehicle status provides the information you need in a geographic context via the map.

You have the widgets you choose, plus a toolbar with quick access to the action features you choose, such as show today's track

The event badge will show in the upper-right hand corner (if there is at least one open event).

The popover size is as small as possible with the contained data, so shorter data fields allow a very small popup.

Panel vehicle status

The panel vehicle status allows you a view of the vehicle status separate from the map. You can drag and drop the panel to customize a workspace that works for you.

The panel features the same shortcut toolbar with tracks (directly under the vehicle name near the top).

Enabling the panel or popover vehicle status:

Update your beta repository for access to preview features. You can then enable the panel or popover in your application.

Customize vehicle status

Right-click on the Vehicle Status for any vehicle and select Edit template from the menu.

(You can also go to access this via the menu with Admin > Vehicle Status Templates).

You can add a new template, duplicate an existing template, or edit an existing custom template. Tip: duplicate the default template to start with some info and icons already populated.

Select the widgets and quick actions you'd like to include on the marker.

You can assign a template to one user at a time via Edit User > Marker > Vehicle Status settings.

After saving, you will see your custom vehicle status:

To assign to multiple users, enable the Vehicle Status Template from User Type. Then use Batch Edit to assign it to users as desired.

Planned improvements

This is an early version of the new vehicle status. We have plans for future development that will make this feature even more usable and customizable. It will eventually replace marker attributes.

As always, if you have feedback on the new feature, please send it to and we will route it to the correct team.

Troubleshooting / FAQ

One (or more) or the quick actions buttons isn't displaying. A user must have the proper privileges for all quick actions to show (e.g. if a user doesn't have Publish privileges to share a vehicle location, that quick action will not show on the vehicle status).

The template name can't be found when I try to batch edit users. What's wrong? Be sure that the Vehicle Status template is enabled for the User Type first. You should then be able to assign it via batch edit.
