Asset Status
Asset Status gives you a full picture of an asset, right on the map or in a dedicated panel. Templates let you choose exactly which data to display, and quick action buttons let you zoom in, share the asset's location, draw track ranges for different dates, edit the asset, and more.
You can create a separate Asset Status template for each role or job function, so every user sees the data that's actually relevant to their job.
Key features:
- Customizable toolbar you can add buttons to for direct actions, like drawing today's tracks, zooming in, sharing the asset location, or editing the asset
- Custom icon sets
- Event badges showing things like the number of open events on an asset
- List view and card view, so you can pick the layout that fits how you like to scan data
- Hover tooltips on values, showing where the data came from and when it last changed
Read the guide on how to enable the Asset Status Panel.
List View and Card View
Asset Status data can be displayed in two layouts. Switch between them using the toggle in the top right corner of the panel.
-
List view (☰) shows attributes and values as rows, one after another. Good for scanning a lot of fields at once.
-
Card view (▦) shows each attribute as its own card in a grid. Good for a more visual, at-a-glance overview
Both views show the same data. It's just a question of layout, so pick whichever works best for you.
Viewing Value Details
Hover over any value in Asset Status, in either view, to see a tooltip with more context on that specific data point:
- Value: the current reading
- Source: where the data came from, for example a device report or a user attribute
- Received: the date and time GpsGate received the value
- Last changed: the last time the value actually changed, if different from when it was received
While the tooltip is open, click the value to copy it to your clipboard. Handy when you need to paste a reading into a ticket, report, or another system.
Asset Status Popover
The popover version of Asset Status shows you the information you need in a geographic context, right on the map. Read the guide on how to enable the Asset Status pop-over.
