Drivers
Starting with the August 2026 release, Drivers now have their own space in the workspace, separate from the Assets list. Instead of being created as a special type of asset, a driver is managed from a dedicated Drivers panel/tab, where you can see all drivers, the vehicle each one is currently driving, add new drivers, edit them, and view their location and driving history.
How to open it
- Under the Main Menu, go to Fleet → Drivers.
- The Drivers page opens, where you can view and manage all drivers.
Overview of the Driver panel
Next to the Assets panel tab, you'll find a Drivers tab showing the total number of drivers in parentheses (e.g. Drivers (3)).
The Drivers list shows the following columns:
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Status | An icon showing the driver's current state (e.g. a green arrow for driving/moving, a "P" icon for parked). This reflects the status of the vehicle the driver is currently linked to. |
| Name | The driver's display name. |
| Current vehicle | The vehicle (asset) the driver is currently detected in/driving, if any. |
| Driver ID | The unique ID assigned to the driver. |
| Last activity | The timestamp of the driver's most recent activity/update. |
You can use the Search field above the list to quickly find a driver by name or ID.
Adding a new driver
- Open the Drivers tab in the panel.
-
Click + Driver in the top-right corner.
- In the Add a driver window, fill in the driver's details:
- Name * (required)
- Driver ID * (required) — the unique identifier for this driver 🔎 (confirm whether this must match the RFID/iButton value reported by the tracker, as in the previous driver-user setup, or whether it's a separate/internal ID)
- Phone number (optional)
- Email (optional)
- Optionally, drag and drop an Image for the driver, or use the upload link, to help identify them visually in the list and on the map.
- Click Save to create the driver.
The new driver will now appear in the Drivers list. Once their tracker/vehicle reports their driver ID, the Current vehicle and Status columns will populate automatically. No driver gets connected? Check the guide about Creating a Driver event for driver login detection
Editing a driver
- In the Drivers list, right-click on the driver you want to edit.
- Select Edit from the context menu.
- Update the driver's details in the dialog (Name, Driver ID, Phone number, Email, roles, groups).
- Click Save.
Viewing a driver's location and history
Right-clicking a driver row also gives you quick access to map and tracking options:
- Zoom to street level – centers the map on the driver's (or their current vehicle's) location at street zoom.
- Zoom to city level – centers the map at city zoom.
- Zoom to region level – centers the map at region zoom.
- Show track – opens a submenu to view the driver's historical track/trip history on the map.
This lets you locate a driver in real time or review where they've been, without needing to go through the Assets panel.
