Crash Data Teltonika configurations
Configuring Teltonika Devices for Crash Data Collection
To enable your Teltonika device to receive and report crash data, you’ll need to use the Teltonika Configurator tool. This guide will walk you through the necessary configuration steps within the tool.
Note: If you're looking to set up crash data reporting in GpsGate, please refer to this article.
Step-by-Step Configuration Guide
1. Open Teltonika Configurator
Connect your device and launch the Teltonika Configurator compatible with your model.
2. Format the SD Card
Go to Status > Ext Storage > Format.
-
If the device is displaying buffered data in the terminal, formatting the SD card will clear the buffer and allow it to send current data.
3. Enable Accelerometer Autocalibration
Accurate crash detection depends on proper accelerometer calibration.
-
Ensure Autocalibration is enabled.
-
This requires the vehicle to drive in a straight line for a few kilometers to complete calibration.
4. Configure Crash Detection Settings
Navigate to the Crash Detection section and apply the recommended configuration as shown below:
5. Adjust I/O Elements and Accelerometer Axis
To enhance crash data detail:
-
Set the I/O elements and Accelerometer axis to LOW.
-
This step is optional—crash detection will still function if these are disabled, but enabling them provides more granular data for analysis.
