Geofences, geofence groups, and event rules

In the realm of GPS tracking, geofences act as virtual boundaries defining areas of interest. GpsGate allows users to create geofences in various shapes like circles, polygons, or routes.

These geofences aren't solitary; they're organised into groups. These groups, containing one or more geofences, are essential for event rules. It's crucial to name these groups descriptively as they directly impact event rule expressions, simplifying customisation and setup processes. Efficient naming ensures smoother navigation through geofence management.

Tip: an event rule cannot reference a geofence - only a geofence group (even if there is only one geofence in the group).

Tip: use friendly geofence group names so that your event rule alerts are easy to understand.
