Ways to integrate Dispatch with your system

Dispatch offers multiple options to integrate it with your system. In this article we will describe the most common methods.

REST API

The REST API is the newest and fastest way to integrate your business systems with GpsGate. Here's an example of what you can do with the REST API regarding Dispatch:

  • Create a Job
  • Get the numbers of Jobs
  • Update a Job
  • Delete a Job
  • Create multiple Jobs

Read more about the possibilities of REST and Dispatch here under the Users/Jobs, Routes and Jobs section.

IMPORT JOBS

With Dispatch, you have the possibility to import a list of Jobs to be performed by your workers.

For example, you can export these jobs from your own ERP system, and import it into GpsGate to use it with your fleet and the Dispatch App

Jobs can be imported in batch mode using a TXT/CSV file with an specific format.

You can read more about this here under the section Option 3: importing a job or a set of jobs using a TXT file

SCRIPTING

Scripting offers a wide range of possibilities which you can make the most out of it using your JavaScript development skills.

With the available dispatch and job methods, you will be able to offer a solution to your customers and improve your business.

In this example, you can automate sending dispatch processes using a timer. This is useful to dispatch new arrived jobs to the system and minimize operator errors or delays when assigning these jobs to the workers.

DISPATCH APP OPEN SOURCE

The dispatch app is a simple mobile application extending the Dispatch plugin. It keeps field workers and operators connected in real-time (from receiving the job, to submitting it as complete). It is available for both iOS and Android. Now we made it Open Source!

The app uses the React Native framework and has most of its business logic written in JavaScript for compatibility. It contains platform-specific UI for iOS and Android, so users have the familiar experience they expect.
